How to Convert a Scanned PDF to JPG
Turn scanned PDF pages into JPG images in your browser. Choose practical quality, rotate or crop pages, and understand why image export is different from OCR.
What a scanned PDF contains
A scanned PDF commonly stores a picture of each sheet rather than searchable text. This tool renders each selected PDF page as an image, preserving its visible appearance. It does not extract embedded images directly, recognize handwriting or make the text searchable.
Choose a useful preset
Start with Web & Social Media for general viewing. Try Print & Docs when fine text needs more pixels or PNG when JPEG artifacts are distracting. Increasing DPI cannot restore detail missing from a low-resolution source scan. Compare one page before exporting a large document.
Rotate and crop the preview
Use Rotate 90° if the scan is sideways. Enable Crop this page and drag over the preview to select the useful area; Clear crop restores the full page. Cropping removes unwanted borders from the export but is not a perspective-correction or automatic deskew feature.
Save what you need
Select relevant pages to reduce memory and download size. Save individual images or ZIP after conversion. Files remain in your browser, but keep a copy of the original scan for records. If you need searchable or editable text, use a separate OCR workflow rather than expecting JPG conversion to supply it.
